In 1963, the Lawson Family realized that there was a need in our community for a quality personal care facility. Lawson Nursing Home, Inc. was built to be a warm, comfortable place for individuals seeking a skilled, long term, or rehabilitation facility. Originally, we were setup as a personal care home. In 1995, we were Medicare/Medicaid certified. Since then, our family has continued to provide skilled care along with long term care in a very home-like atmosphere.
You will find detailed information in this website that identifies the services we provide. We hope that, if needed, you will allow our family the opportunity to care for your family.
Our Activities Director, Bronzetta Hamlin, oversees the entire activities department. She and her staff of many assistants are focused on enhancing our resident's sense of well-being and to promote physical, cognitive, and emotional health. Examples of some of our activites include, but are not limited to, sing-a-longs, local performers, bingo, bowling, kickball, current events, card games, church, group discussions, crafts, and two or three outings per month. Our outings in the past have included Kennywood, Phipps Conservatory, The Carnegie Museum, The Aviary, and several local restaurants and shopping stops. We also incorporate the latest video and video game technology in some of our activities. The activities department is always looking for willing individuals and organizations to volunteer to participate in activites. Any willing persons can feel free to contact the activities director.
